Dear Occupier

I am writing with an update on the Ardleigh Green bridge works.

This letter includes information about temporary lane closures on the A127 and a short term closure of the right turn from the A127 into Ardleigh Green Road.

What are we doing?

From 5 October to 15 November 2015 we will remove the central reservation in preparation for transporting the new utility services bridge across the road. A temporary barrier will be installed instead. During this time a single lane closure of the A127, in both directions, will be in place.

For a short period during this time we also need to close the right-turn from the A127 into Ardleigh Green Road. In order to minimise disruption we will do this during the school half term (23 – 30 October). Traffic will be diverted via the A127/Hall Lane flyover.

From 9-18 November there will be some deliveries made to the north-west compound requiring the closure of one lane of the A127 westbound (between 10:00 and 15:00). There will be one night-time shift for this work currently planned for 21:00 on Wednesday 11 November until 05:00 on Thursday 12 November.

Other night time working

We will continue with night time working at the weekends every week until 14/15 November 2015.

Works will start each Saturday at 20:00 and finish at 10:00 on the Sunday (continuing the works on the northern side of the bridge, adjacent to the gardens of the Messant Close flats).

We will make every effort to minimise noise and use modern equipment designed to keep

noise down while continually monitoring noise levels. We will also use acoustic barriers when working at night on the central reserve on the bridge.

We need to lift the services utility bridge into place which will mean closing the road overnight. We will provide more information on this road closure, nearer the time.
