Police Report

Havering  are due to receive another 1 Police Inspector  an additional Police Constables. These will be shared out amongst the wards and we are due to receive an additional PC.

There was discussion about shoplifting and threatening behaviour particularly in Tesco’s Butts Gren Road  and the Co-op  at the petrol Station.

Tesco’s estimate loss of £10K over the last three months  and there is some confusion as to whether theses are being reported.

The local l PCSO has been invited to the meetings but in future requests will have to go back the the sergeant in charge of the ward

Little Badgers – Parent and Toddler Group (Every Tuesday and Friday) – 10.30 am – 12 noon

Tues 3rd, Fri 6th, Tue 10th, Fri 13th, Tue 17th, Fri 20th Tue 24th, and Fri 27th May

Indoor and outdoor fun for toddlers and pre-schoolers with their parents and carers; woodland play, stories, learning through play and exploration. £6 donation per child per session. SPECIAL OFFER Book 6 sessions for the price of 5 if booked and paid together.

 

NEW – Free Buggy Walks –- Every Tuesday 1.30pm

Tues 3rd, Tue 10th, Tue 17th, Tue 24th, and Tue 31st May

Bring your little one in their pram or buggy for a brisk 45 minute led walk around Hornchurch Country Park. Enjoy the fresh air and beautiful surroundings while meeting new friends. No need to book. Meet outside Ingrebourne Valley Visitor Centre.

Birds, Birdsong and Breakfast – Saturday 14th May 7 am – 9.30am

Join local guide Dave McGough for a fantastic introduction to the birds and their song found in the Ingrebourne Valley. Enjoy an informative walk listening, observing and identifying a variety of birds. Return to the visitor centre for breakfast. Breakfast will include bacon/ veggie sausage roll, pastries and a hot drink/fruit juice. Places limited to 15. £12 per person.

‘Heartstart’ Community First Aid Course – Sunday 15th May – 10am – 12.30 pm

Run in association with the British Heart Foundation and London Ambulance Service. This course will cover invaluable basic life saving first aid skills including recovery position, CPR, choking, heart attack, use of a defibrillator, and major bleeding. Places are limited to 12 adults. Delegates will receive a certificate of attendance.

£5 donation (to EWT) per person.

Essex Kite Group Flying Displays – Sunday 15th May (Weather Permitting)

Watch Essex Kite Group Members practice flying their kites on the main/large field near Squadrons Approach.

Birdie Birds – Sunday 15th May – 10.30 am – 12.30pm – A Sociable Birdwatching Fortnightly Club for Women Join our friendly and knowledgeable volunteer and enjoy a walk around Hornchurch Country Park and surrounding areas spotting and identifying birds and other wildlife along the way. £5 donation.

 Art – Drawing – Part 3 – 10 weeks

Thursdays 10 am – 12.30pm 19, 26 May, 9, 16, 23, and 30 Jun, 7, 14, 21st and 28 July 2016

Delivered at the Ingrebourne Valley Visitor Centre the course is for learners developing their skills in drawing. The course will cover the variety of drawing styles, range of mediums and develop further the skills needed to create personal masterpieces. The course is ideal for beginners and learners who have some basic knowledge of drawing and wish to improve those skills. Courses to be booked through Havering Adult College 01708 434955 Standard fee £102 / 60+ fee £77 / Concession fee £52 / Resource fee £10

Metropolitan Police Safer Transport Team – Bike Marking and Travel Advice. Friday 27th May – 10 am – 1pm

Free event outside the visitor centre. No need to book just come along with your bike to be security marked.

Wildlife Photography Exhibition Saturday 28th May – 10 am – 4pm

Enjoy a selection of beautiful images captured by local photographer Andy Webb. Prints will be available to buy. Free entry just call in.

Burglars Caught in Squirrels Heath

Some  good news from our  Police  Squirrels Heath Neighbourhood Team.

A 29 year old man & a 27 year old man have both been arrested & charged with committing two burglaries on Squirrels Heath ward.

The burglaries were on Westmoreland Avenue & Balgores Lane.

They’ve been remanded in custody and will be appearing at Snaresbrook Crown Court.
